1. Windsurfing

Windsurfing is sort of a mix of sailing and surfing. You can pretty much windsurf wherever there is water; in the sea or even in a lake. The wind is also crucial in this as windsurfing consists of a sail and a surfboard that need wind to move. It’s safe for beginners to try in shallow waters and you can truly have a nice time if you know some very basic things about surfing.

2. Stand Up Paddle or SUP

This is a water sport that was originally created in Hawaii and it’s pretty similar to surfing. In order to try this, you will need a large surfboard as well as one bladed paddle. You will have to do your best and stand up even while you’re paddling. The good thing is that you’ll get used to it pretty fast so you’ll be able to enjoy yourself without constantly falling in the water.

Skimboarding is a sport much like surfing as it too includes the use of a board. The board in this sport though is quite smaller and lacks the characteristic fins that surfing boards have. Contrary to surfing, skimming allows the surfer to throw the board at the shallowest part of the beach and also helps the surfer perform tricks that resemble skateboarding.

This is a sport that can literally make you walk on water. Combining aspects of various other sports like snowboarding, paragliding and of course surfing, kiteboarding allows you to use the power of the wind in order to propel yourself across the water for a very fun and extreme experience.

5. Wakeboarding

Wakeboarding is a very cool sport that really resembles surfing as well as snowboarding. T wakeboard a small and kind of rectangular shaped board is tied behind a motorboat which allows it to reach speeds up to 40 kilometers per hour. This truly makes it a fun and exciting sport that can surely give you a good adrenaline rush!
