How to Go on a Trip and Surf

Whether you are a beginner or a professional surfer there is no better feeling than knowing you can do your favorite sport while you’re away on a trip

· how-to

If you’re in need of some help when it comes to organizing, here are some very useful tips on how you can plan a very successful surfing trip!

Choose your surfing destination correctly

While there are many great surfing destinations to choose from, you should probably keep in mind that when you are traveling and surfing you want to make sure that wherever you go, you will be safe.

Make sure you have done plenty of research on the place, ask locals and look up if it’s a popular surfing spot. The more people visit it and the more things you hear about it, the more excited you will be to ride the waves!

Don’t forget about your documents

No matter where you travel to, you will always need to have with you your international passport as well as surfer insurance. This is very important as you will be able to seek medical help no matter where you are without having to pay a fortune for doctors or transportation costs and you will, therefore, be able to surf a lot safer.

Bringing along your surfboard

If you’re anything like me, you will probably want to bring your surfboard along for the trip. In order to do so, you will need to keep it as safe as possible while it is in transit. The most important thing, in this case, is a good and sturdy surfboard bad that is at least 7mm thick so it can keep your board safe from bumping around during the trip.

Be prepared for emergencies

One of the most important things to have with you is an emergency medical kit. No matter where you go, you will need to make sure it is fully loaded with all the supplies you will need in during an unexpected situation.

On top of that, make sure you have enough emergency supplies for your board as well. Leashes can break and fins can get damages, so make sure you have some extra supplies to help you repair it in an emergency.

Choose the right kind of transportation

If you’re intending to go surfing somewhere in your own country you are most likely to get there either by road trip or by a boat. While both are quite enjoyable, make sure you pick the one that is the most convenient for you, your mates and your gear so you’re getting the most out of this experience.

Explore and stay safe

Surfing trips have always been amazing for me as I always got to meet new people and surf at such incredible and unique places.

As long as you stay safe and are well prepared, you have nothing to worry about. Take along your favorite friends and be prepared for having the time of your lives!
